DTC B1906[00] Far Side Airbag Circuit Activated(Crash) (Air Bag (Driver/Passenger/Side/Roof/Knee/Far Side))

1. DTC B1906[00] description

The SRS control unit has a built-in G sensor that converts an impact into electrical signals. The electrical signals from the built-in G sensor, door side airbag sensor, floor side airbag sensor, and rear side airbag sensor are processed by the SRS control unit and then compared with the values recorded in the memory. When the emitted signals exceed the specified value, the SRS control unit sends a current to the side airbag and curtain airbag on the collision side, far side airbag, and pretensioners to deploy them, and the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1906[00]

  • The SRS control unit detects a frontal collision greater than a predetermined level.

3. Action taken when DTC B1906[00] sets

  • SRS airbag warning light illuminates.
  • Even if the condition returns to normal, the warning light does not turn OFF until the DTC is cleared.

Warning

  • During the maintenance work, do not hit or shake the SRS control unit when handling it.
  • If the SRS control unit is not properly installed, the SRS control unit may cause malfunctions. This may result in deployment of the SRS airbag and personal injury.

Caution

  • When this DTC is set, all the SRS system components, such as the SRS control unit, side airbag, curtain airbag, and seat belt with pretensioner, must be replaced.
  • This DTC cannot be cleared.
  • To prevent the SRS parts to be replaced from malfunctioning and generating a battery short circuit, make sure to disconnect the battery cable before replacing the parts.
