1. DTC P0571 description
The stoplight switch is installed to the brake pedal bracket. There are 2 stoplight switches, and the 2 switches are turned ON together when the brake pedal is depressed. If the ECM detects that the stoplight switch 1 and 2 signal input counts do not match, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P0571
Condition for running the DTC
- The battery voltage is 9 to 16 V.
- The ignition switch is ON.
Condition for setting the DTC
Any of the following are met:
- The ECM detects a correlation error between the stoplight switch 1 signal and the stoplight switch 2 signal 32 times or more for 157 seconds or more.
- The ECM detects either the stoplight switch 1 signal or the stoplight switch 2 signal is ON for 15 minutes.
3. Action taken when DTC P0571 sets
- Euro4: The ECM illuminates the SVS indicator light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type C (Euro4).
- Except Euro4: The ECM illuminates the check engine warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type A (Except Euro4).

- The ECM inhibits the cruise control.
4. Condition for clearing DTC P0571
- Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the SVS indicator light/DTC - Type C (Euro4).
- Except Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the check engine warning light/DTC - Type A or Type B (Except Euro4).
