1. DTC B170C[71] description
The auto A/C control unit controls the motor in the mix actuator based on each temperature to change the air outlet mode. The air outlet opening position is detected by the position sensor and is sent to the auto A/C control unit. If the auto A/C control unit detects a malfunction in the mix actuator (driver side) motor circuit, the DTC is set.
2. Condition for setting DTC B170C[71]
Condition for running the DTC
- DTCs B170D[16] and B170D[17] are not set.

Refer to "57.HVAC Control 7A.Troubleshooting(Auto A/C) DTC B170D[17] Mix Actuator (Driver) Position Sensor: Open/Short to Battery".
Also, the following are met for 5 seconds or more:
- The ignition switch is ON.
- The ignition voltage is 10 V or more.
Condition for setting the DTC
- The automatic A/C control unit detects that the desired position cannot be attained even though the motor in the mix actuator (driver side) is driven for 16 seconds or more.
3. Action taken when DTC B170C[71] sets
- The auto A/C control unit stops the motor control until the motor is driven in the opposite direction.
