DTC P1471 Diesel Particulate Defuser (DPD) Insufficient Regeneration (4JJ3 with DPD)

1. DTC P1471 description

The ECM detects PM accumulation problems from the exhaust differential pressure sensor installed to the cylinder head cover bracket near the DPD. DPD automatic regeneration starts when a certain level of PM has accumulated or when the vehicle has been driven a certain distance. If automatic regeneration cannot be completed for some reason, the DPD operator regeneration indicator light in the instrument panel cluster will flash to request the driver to perform DPD regeneration. After the DPD regeneration is finished, the exhaust differential pressure sensor monitors the purification of the filter. If the purification status is retained with the DPD regeneration incomplete, the DTC is set.
