DTC P0808 Clutch Position Sensor Circuit High (4JJ3 without DPD)

1. DTC P0808 description

The clutch pedal stroke sensor is installed to the clutch master cylinder. The ECM detects the clutch pedal stroke amount based on the signal from the clutch pedal stroke sensor. The clutch pedal stroke sensor signal voltage increases as the clutch pedal is depressed. The sensor has the following circuits.

  • 5 V reference circuit
  • Low reference circuit
  • Clutch pedal stroke sensor signal circuit

The clutch pedal stroke sensor sends signals related to the pressure changes in the clutch master cylinder to the ECM via the signal circuit. If the ECM detects an excessively high signal voltage, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P0808

Condition for running the DTC

  • The battery voltage is 9 to 16 V.
  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • DTCs P060B and P0697 are not set.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 without DPD) DTC P060B Internal Control Module A/D Processing Performance".

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 without DPD) DTC P0697 Sensor Reference Voltage 3 Circuit".

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The ECM detects that the clutch pedal stroke sensor signal voltage is 4.9 V or more.

3. Action taken when DTC P0808 sets

  • Euro4: The ECM illuminates the SVS indicator light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type C (Euro4).
  • Except Euro4: The ECM illuminates the check engine warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type A (Except Euro4).

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 without DPD) DTC type definitions".

4. Condition for clearing DTC P0808

  • Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the SVS indicator light/DTC - Type C (Euro4).
  • Except Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the check engine warning light/DTC - Type A or Type B (Except Euro4).

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 without DPD) DTC type definitions".
