The TCCM communicates the control information with other control units, the instrument panel cluster, etc., via the CAN communication circuit. If the TCCM detects any failure in the CAN communication circuit, the DTC is set.

Condition for running the DTC
- The ignition voltage is 10 to 16 V.
Condition for setting the DTC
- The TCCM detects a malfunction in the CAN communication circuit.
3. Action taken when DTC U0046[88] sets
- The TCCM illuminates the check 4WD warning light when the diagnostic runs and fails.
- Shifting of the transfer is limited.
- The TCCM controls the system, assuming that the vehicle is in gear.
