DTC B1710[71] Mode Actuator (Front): Operation Failure (Lock) (Auto A/C)

1. DTC B1710[71] description

The auto A/C control unit controls the motor in the mode actuator based on each temperature to change the air outlet mode. The operation status of the motor is detected by the position sensor and is sent to the auto A/C control unit. If the auto A/C control unit detects a malfunction in the mode actuator motor circuit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1710[71]

Condition for running the DTC

  • DTCs B1711[16] and B1711[17] are not set.

Refer to "57.HVAC Control 7A.Troubleshooting(Auto A/C) DTC B1711[17] Mode Actuator (Front) Position Sensor: Open/Short to Battery".

Also, the following are met for 5 seconds or more:

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The ignition voltage is 10 V or more.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The automatic A/C control unit detects that the desired position cannot be attained even though the motor in the mode actuator is driven for 16 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC B1710[71] sets

  • The auto A/C control unit stops the motor control until the motor is driven in the opposite direction.
