Fuel system check (4JJ3 without DPD)

The fuel system is divided into a high pressure system and a low pressure system. The high pressure system indicates sections between the fuel supply pump and the fuel rail, and between the fuel rail and the injector. The low pressure system indicates the fuel tank, supply pump, and fuel leak circuit. The fuel filter is installed in the fuel system. Also, in order to prevent fuel leakage, etc., an overflow valve is installed on the supply pump section.

The technician can perform the appropriate system diagnostic using the fuel system check. The fuel system check assumes that the following are met.

  • The battery is fully charged and the terminals are clean and tight.
  • The engine cranking speed is normal.
  • The fuel tank is filled with an appropriate fuel.
  • No fuel leakage in the fuel system
  • No air in the fuel system
  • The fuse and the slow blow fuse are normal.
