DTC B1711[17] Mode Actuator (Front) Position Sensor: Open/Short to Battery (Auto A/C)

1. DTC B1711[17] description

The actuator position sensor detects the operation status of the motor. The auto A/C control unit controls the motor based on the signals from the actuator position sensor. The output voltage of the actuator position sensor becomes higher as the motor rotates counterclockwise. The auto A/C control unit sets this DTC if the signal voltage from the mode actuator position sensor is higher than the normal range.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1711[17]

Condition for running the DTC

The following are met for 5 seconds or more:

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The ignition voltage is 10 V or more.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The automatic A/C control unit detects that the actuator position sensor signal voltage in the mode actuator is excessively high for 4 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC B1711[17] sets

  • The auto A/C control unit stops the motor control after driving the motor for 16 seconds or more.
