DTC P2456 Differential Pressure Sensor Learned Position (4JJ3 with DPD)

1. DTC P2456 description

The exhaust differential pressure sensor is installed to the cylinder head cover bracket near the DPD. The exhaust differential pressure sensor changes the signal voltage in accordance with changes in the exhaust gas pressure difference between the front and rear of the DPD filter. The ECM performs exhaust differential pressure sensor learning based on the command from the scan tool. Exhaust differential pressure sensor learning is performed when related parts have been replaced. If the ECM detects that the learned differential pressure is not within the predetermined range, the DTC is set. If it is detected that the exhaust differential pressure sensor learning is not completed, this DTC is also set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P2456

Condition for running the DTC

  • The battery voltage is 9 to 16 V.
  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The engine is stopped
  • DTCs P060B and P06A3 are not set.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC P060B Internal Control Module A/D Processing Performance".

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC P06A3 Sensor Reference Voltage 4 Circuit".

Condition for setting the DTC

Any of the following are met:

  • The ECM detects that the learned differential pressure is not within -4.5 to 4.5 kPa.
  • The ECM detects that the exhaust differential pressure sensor learning is not completed.

3. Action taken when DTC P2456 sets

  • The ECM illuminates the SVS indicator light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type C.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC type definitions".

  • The ECM inhibits the DPD regeneration.

4. Condition for clearing DTC P2456

  • Refer to Condition for clearing the SVS indicator light/DTC - Type C.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) DTC type definitions".
