The EGR cooler bypass control solenoid valve is installed to the inlet manifold via the bracket. When any engine coolant temperature, EGR gas temperature, engine speed, or fuel injection quantity satisfies a certain condition, the ECM controls the EGR cooler bypass control solenoid valve to adjust the vacuum. By adjusting the vacuum, it activates the EGR cooler bypass control actuator in order to open or close the EGR cooler bypass valve. If the ECM detects a short to the battery power supply circuit or a short to the ignition power supply circuit in the solenoid valve control circuit, the DTC is set.
