DTC U0167 (Flash Code 177) Lost Communication with Vehicle Immobilizer Control Module (RZ4E-TC)

1. DTC U0167 description

The ECM communicates with the wireless access module and performs the immobilizer function. The ECM sends a request signal to the wireless access module. The ECM receives a response signal from the wireless access module. Both communication signals are sent and received via the CAN communication circuit. If the ECM does not detect a response signal from the wireless access module, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC U0167

Condition for setting the DTC

The ECM detects that an immobilizer response signal from the wireless access module is not received.

3. Action taken when DTC U0167 sets

Euro4: The ECM does not illuminate the MIL or SVS indicator light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type D (Euro4).
Except Euro4: The ECM does not illuminate the check engine warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type D (Except Euro4).

The ECM inhibits engine startup.
