1. DTC P0963 description
Clutch control solenoid (SL1) is installed on the valve body assembly and adjusts the C1 clutch control oil pressure. The TCM controls clutch control solenoid (SL1) based on the information of the vehicle speed, accelerator opening position, brake signal, etc. The TCM detects the energized state of clutch control solenoid (SL1) based on the current of the high-side control circuit and low-side control circuit of clutch control solenoid (SL1). If the clutch control solenoid (SL1) circuit current is too high, the TCM determines this is due to a short to the power supply circuit, and the DTC is set.
2. Condition for setting DTC P0963
Condition for running the DTC
- The ignition switch is ON.
- The battery voltage is 9.0 to 16.0 V.
Condition for setting the DTC
- The TCM detects a short to the power supply circuit in the clutch control solenoid (SL1) circuit.
3. Action taken when DTC P0963 sets
- The TCM flashes the check trans warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type A.
Refer to "55.Transmission Control 5A.Troubleshooting(AWR6B45) DTC type definitions".
- The TCM inhibits the shift timing control.
- The TCM inhibits the lock-up timing control.
- The TCM inhibits the slip lock-up control.
- The TCM inhibits the garage control.
- The TCM inhibits the self-learning control.
- The TCM inhibits the engine torque control.
- The TCM inhibits the skip gear shift control.
- If the DTC is set in the reverse gear, the gear is restricted to neutral or reverse.
- If the DTC is set while running, the gear is shifted to neutral and then to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.
- When the vehicle is stopped, the gear is shifted to neutral and then to 3rd.
4. Condition for clearing DTC P0963
- Refer to Condition for clearing the MIL, check trans warning light/DTC - Type A or Type B.
Refer to "55.Transmission Control 5A.Troubleshooting(AWR6B45) DTC type definitions".
