1. DTC C172D[11] description
The BCM controls the clearance light output circuit and taillight output circuit according to the signal input from the light control switch, and it illuminates the clearance light and taillight. Also, it turns ON the illumination light output circuit and supplies the power supply voltage to each circuit. If the BCM detects a malfunction in the clearance light (left) output circuit, taillight (left) output circuit, or illumination light output circuit, the DTC is set.
2. Condition for setting DTC C172D[11]
Condition for running the DTC
- The BCM commands the clearance light (left), taillight (left), and illumination light ON.
Condition for setting the DTC
Any of the following conditions are met:
- The BCM detects a short to ground in the clearance light (left) output circuit for 2.5 seconds or more.
- The BCM detects an overloading to the clearance light (left) output circuit for 2 seconds or more.
- The BCM detects a short to ground in the taillight (left) output circuit for 2.5 seconds or more.
- The BCM detects an overloading to the taillight (left) output circuit for 2 seconds or more.
- The BCM detects a short to ground in the illumination light output circuit for 2.5 seconds or more.
- The BCM detects an overloading to the illumination light output circuit for 2 seconds or more.
3. Action taken when DTC C172D[11] sets
- For models with MID, LH taillight failure is displayed.
- The output of the clearance light (left), taillight (left), or illumination light is stopped until the next command is given.
- Current and past failures are set.
