DTC C172C[49] Right Tail Light Output Circuit Internal Electronic Failure (BCM)

1. DTC C172C[49] description

The BCM controls the clearance light output circuit and taillight output circuit according to the signal input from the light control switch, and it illuminates the clearance light and taillight. If the BCM detects a malfunction in the clearance light (right) output circuit or taillight (right) output circuit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC C172C[49]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The BCM commands the clearance light (right) and taillight (right) ON.

Condition for setting the DTC

Any of the following conditions are met:

  • The BCM detects an internal malfunction in the clearance light (right) output circuit.
  • The BCM detects an internal malfunction in the taillight (right) output circuit.

3. Action taken when DTC C172C[49] sets

  • For models with MID, RH taillight failure is displayed.
  • The output of the clearance light (right) or taillight (right) is stopped.
  • Current and past failures are set.
