DTC B1718[12] Anti-theft System Indicator Light Output Circuit Short to Battery (BCM)

1. DTC B1718[12] description

After the doors are locked with the passive entry and start system or keyless entry function, the anti-theft system indicator light illuminates for approximately 10 seconds while the BCM is determining whether the anti-theft system operation conditions are met. After that, if the operation conditions are met, the indicator light starts flashing slowly and the anti-theft system is activated. On the other hand, if the anti-theft system operation conditions are not met, the indicator light flashes rapidly. If the BCM detects a malfunction in the anti-theft system indicator light output circuit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1718[12]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The BCM commands the anti-theft system indicator light OFF.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The BCM detects a short to the power supply in the anti-theft system indicator light output circuit for 2 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC B1718[12] sets

  • The anti-theft system indicator light illuminates.
  • Current and past failures are set.
