DTC P254F[11] Engine Hood Switch Input Circuit Short to Ground (BCM)

1. DTC P254F[11] description

The engine hood switch is installed to the engine hood lock, and detects the opening or closing of the engine hood. The BCM determines the opening or closing of the engine hood based on a signal input from the engine hood switch. If the BCM detects a malfunction in the engine hood switch input circuit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P254F[11]

  • The BCM detects a short to ground in the engine hood switch input circuit for 2 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC P254F[11] sets

  • The anti-theft system does not operate normally.
  • Current and past failures are set.
