DTC B1719[49] Rear Defogger Output Circuit Internal Electronic Failure (BCM)

1. DTC B1719[49] description

When the rear defogger switch is pressed while the ignition switch is ON, the rear defogger relay is driven, the indicator light illuminates, and then the rear defogger is activated. If the BCM detects a malfunction in the rear defogger relay drive circuit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1719[49]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The BCM commands the rear defogger relay ON.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The BCM detects an internal malfunction in the rear defogger relay drive circuit.

3. Action taken when DTC B1718[49] sets

  • The rear defogger does not operate normally.
  • Current and past failures are set.
