DTC B171B[49] BSI(Blind Spot Indicator) LH Circuit Internal Electronic Failure (BCM)

1. DTC B171B[49] description

The BCM communicates the control information with the radar sensor via the CAN communication circuit. The BCM controls the blind spot indicator according to the signal received from the radar sensor while the blind spot monitor (BSM) and rear cross traffic alert (RCTA) are operating. The blind spot indicator is displayed on the right and left outside rearview mirrors, and it illuminates and flashes to alert the driver. If the BCM detects a malfunction in the blind spot indicator (left) output circuit, the DTC is set.

Condition for running the DTC

  • The blind spot indicator function is in operation.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The BCM detects an internal malfunction in the blind spot indicator (left) output circuit.

3. Action taken when DTC B171B[49] sets

  • The output of the blind spot indicator (left) is stopped.
  • Current and past failures are set.
