DTC C1707[11] Backup Light Circuit Short to Ground (BCM)

1. DTC C1707[11] description

When the back up light switch signal (MT models) or the reverse signal from the inhibitor switch (AT models) is input, the BCM controls the back up light output circuit and illuminates the back up light. If the BCM detects a malfunction in the back up light output circuit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC C1707[11]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The BCM commands the back up light ON.

Condition for setting the DTC

Any of the following conditions are met:

  • The BCM detects a short to ground in the back up light output circuit for 2.5 seconds or more.
  • The BCM detects an overloading to the back up light output circuit for 2 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC C1707[11] sets

  • The output of the back up light is stopped until the next command is given.
  • Current and past failures are set.
