DTC C1708[1D] Circuit Failure

1. DTC C1708[1D] description

The EPS motor control unit drives the motor based on the signals input from the torque sensors and performs steering assist. If the EPS motor control unit detects a malfunction in the motor, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC C1708[1D]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The EPS motor control unit detects a malfunction in the motor internal circuit.

3. Action taken when DTC C1708[1D] sets

  • The steering system failure warning light illuminates.
  • The electric power steering assist control is stopped.
  • The lane departure prevention is deactivated.
  • The lane keep assist is deactivated.
  • The emergency lane keeping is deactivated.
