DTC U0122[86] CAN Communication or Input Data Malfunction With EHCU (VDC)

1. DTC U0122[86] description

The EPS motor control unit communicates the control information with the EHCU via the CAN communication circuit. If the EPS motor control unit detects a communication failure with the EHCU, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC U0122[86]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.

Condition for setting the DTC

Any of the following conditions are met:

  • The EPS motor control unit detects that the control information sent from the EHCU cannot be received.
  • The EPS motor control unit detects an error in the data received from the EHCU.

3. Action taken when DTC U0122[86] sets

  • The steering system failure warning light does not illuminate.
  • The electric power steering assist control is continued.
  • The lane departure prevention is deactivated.
  • The lane keep assist is deactivated.
  • The emergency lane keeping is deactivated.
