DTC C1118[29] Parking Aid Rear Outer Right Sonar Sensor - Sensor Sensitivity Threshold Abnormality (Parking Aid)

1. DTC C1118[29] description

The rear bumper and front bumper (models with front sonar sensors) have 4 sonar sensors each. The sonar sensors measure the distance from an obstacle and send it to the parking aid system control unit. The parking aid system control unit determines the distance from an obstacle based on the signals received from the sonar sensors. If the parking aid system control unit detects a malfunction in the rear outer right sonar sensor, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC C1118[29]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The shift lever is in the R position.

Condition for setting the DTC

  • The parking aid system control unit detects an invalid signal from the rear outer right sonar sensor.

3. Action taken when DTC C1118[29] sets

  • The obstacle detection function is deactivated.
  • The master warning light illuminates.
  • The parking aid system OFF indicator light illuminates.
  • Current and past failures are set.
