DTC P02E3 (Flash Code 43) Intake Air Flow (IAF) Valve Control Circuit High Voltage (RZ4E-TC)

1. DTC P02E3 description

The ECM controls the opening position of the intake throttle valve based on the driving condition of the engine by controlling the intake throttle motor. The intake throttle valve opening position is detected by the position sensor, and is sent to the ECM. If the ECM detects a failure in the intake throttle motor circuit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC P02E3

Condition for running the DTC

  • The battery voltage is 9 to 16 V.

Condition for setting the DTC

The ECM detects any of the following for 1.3 seconds or more.

  • Short to ground in the intake throttle motor circuit
  • Short to the battery power supply circuit or short to the ignition power supply circuit in the intake throttle motor circuit

3. Action taken when DTC P02E3 sets

  • Euro4: The ECM illuminates the MIL. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type A (Euro4).
  • Except Euro4: The ECM illuminates the check engine warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type A (Except Euro4).

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(RZ4E-TC) DTC type definitions".

  • The ECM limits the fuel injection quantity.
  • The ECM inhibits the cruise control.

4. Condition for clearing DTC P02E3

  • Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the MIL/DTC - Type A or Type B (Euro4).
  • Except Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the check engine warning light/DTC - Type A or Type B (Except Euro4).

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(RZ4E-TC) DTC type definitions".
