1. DTC P2227 description
The barometric pressure sensor is installed to the air cleaner. The barometric pressure sensor changes the signal voltage in accordance with changes in the barometric pressure. Diagnosis is performed inside the ECM by comparing the barometric pressure sensor signal with the boost pressure sensor signal. If the ECM detects that both signals are not within the specified range, the DTC is set.
2. Condition for setting DTC P2227
Condition for running the DTC
- The battery voltage is 9 to 16 V.
- The ignition voltage is 9 to 16 V.
- The ignition switch is ON.
- DTCs P0102, P0103, P0112, P0113, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0122, P0123, P0237, P0238, P02E3, P042E, P042F, P0500, P060B, P0638, P0651, P1655, P2228, P2229, and U0001 are not set.

Also, the following are met for 3.1 seconds or more:
- The accelerator pedal is not depressed.
- The vehicle is stopped.
- When idling
- The fuel injection quantity is less than or equal to the predetermined value.
- The engine coolant temperature is 0°C {32°F} or more.
Condition for setting the DTC
- The ECM detects that the difference between the barometric pressure and the boost pressure is the predetermined value or more for 10.2 seconds or more.
3. Action taken when DTC P2227 sets
- Euro4: The ECM illuminates the MIL. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type B (Euro4).
- Except Euro4: The ECM illuminates the check engine warning light. Refer to Action taken when DTC sets - Type B (Except Euro4).

- The ECM assumes a default barometric pressure value.
- The ECM limits the fuel injection quantity.
- The ECM inhibits pre-injection.
- The ECM inhibits the EGR control.
- The ECM inhibits the cruise control.
4. Condition for clearing DTC P2227
- Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the MIL/DTC - Type A or Type B (Euro4).
- Except Euro4: Refer to Condition for clearing the check engine warning light/DTC - Type A or Type B (Except Euro4).
