DTC B1084[09] Electric Steering Lock Failure (Wireless Access Module (Hi-version [Passive Entry and Start System]))

1. DTC B1084[09] description

An ECU is built into the steering lock assembly. The steering lock ECU and wireless access module communicate with each other via LIN communication for steering lock/unlock status, authentication information, etc. If the conditions are met, the wireless access module requests the steering lock ECU to lock or unlock the steering. The steering lock ECU locks or unlocks the steering according to the requests from the wireless access module. If the wireless access module receives a failure message from the steering lock ECU, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1084[09]

  • The wireless access module receives a failure message from the steering lock ECU.

3. Action taken when DTC B1084[09] sets

  • Engine startup is inhibited.

When the engine start/stop button is pressed:

  • The key monitor warning light illuminates for 10 seconds.
  • STEERING LOCK SYSTEM ERROR will be displayed on the multi-information display for 10 seconds.
  • The buzzer built into the instrument panel cluster will sound 3 times.

When the power mode is ON:

  • The key monitor warning light illuminates.
