Diagnostic system check-Wireless Access Module (Mid-version/Lo-version [Except Passive Entry and Start System]) (Wireless Access Module (Mid-version/Lo-version [Except Passive Entry and Start System]))

  • If there are no complaints on drivability, do not perform these diagnostic steps unless otherwise instructed in other sections.
  • Check related Service Bulletins before starting the diagnostic.
  • Do not clear the DTC unless instructed to do so in a diagnostic step.
  • The battery should be fully charged.
  • The battery cable should be normal and securely connected.
  • The ground of the wireless access module should be securely connected to the correct position.
  • The wireless access module harness connector should be clean and correctly connected.
  • Devices that emit strong radio waves should not be installed near the wireless access module.

1. Scan tool power-up check

1) Connect the scan tool.

2) Power up the scan tool. Does the scan tool power up?

Yes

=>Go to Scan tool communication verification.

No

Go to Scan tool does not power up.

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 with DPD) Scan tool does not power up".

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(4JJ3 without DPD) Scan tool does not power up".

Refer to "51.Engine Control 1A.Troubleshooting(RZ4E-TC) Scan tool does not power up".

2. Scan tool communication verification

1) Turn ON the ignition switch.

2) Verify that communication can be established with the wireless access module using the scan tool. Can communication with the wireless access module be established?

Yes

=>Go to Status display verification.

No

Perform inspection for a wireless access module communication malfunction.

Refer to "71.Security and Locks Control 10S.Troubleshooting(Wireless Access Module (Mid-version/Lo-version [Except Passive Entry and Start System])) Lost communication with the Wireless Access Module (Mid-version/Lo-version [except Passive entry and start system]) (models with radar sensor/ stereo camera)".

Refer to "71.Security and Locks Control 10S.Troubleshooting(Wireless Access Module (Mid-version/Lo-version [Except Passive Entry and Start System])) Lost communication with the Wireless Access Module (Mid-version/Lo-version [except Passive entry and start system]) (models without radar sensor and stereo camera)".

3. Status display verification

1) Observe the Ignition Switch 1 Input parameter on the scan tool while operating the ignition switch. Does the Ignition Switch 1 Input parameter show ON when the ignition switch is turned ON, and show OFF when turned OFF?

Yes

=>Go to DTC check for each ECU.

No

Repair the open circuit or high resistance in the ignition power supply circuit between the WAM(IG1) 5A fuse and the wireless access module (pin 3 of B13).

Note

  • Check the WAM (IG1) 5A fuse first.

=>Go to DTC check for each ECU.

4. DTC check for each ECU

1) Check the vehicle specifications and observe the DTC information for each control unit with a scan tool. Is a DTC set?

Note

  • The installed control unit and devices vary depending on the vehicle.

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC diagnosis.

No

The system is normal.
