DTC B1709[11] Interior Light Output Circuit Short to Ground (BCM)

1. DTC B1709[11] description

The BCM controls the interior light. If any door is opened or unlocked with the keyless entry function while the dome light switch and map light switch are in the DOOR position, the BCM illuminates the dome light and map light. If the BCM detects a malfunction in the interior light High side output circuit, the DTC is set.

2. Condition for setting DTC B1709[11]

Condition for running the DTC

  • The ignition switch is ON.
  • The interior light battery saver function is not in operation.

Condition for setting the DTC

Any of the following conditions are met:

  • The BCM detects a short to ground in the interior light High side output circuit for 2.5 seconds or more.
  • The BCM detects an overloading to the interior light High side output circuit for 2 seconds or more.

3. Action taken when DTC B1709[11] sets

  • The output of the interior light is stopped until the next command is given.
  • Current and past failures are set.
