Determination conditions
|
• During the 10 min after the engine is started, the engine oil temperature does not increase above 0.9 °C {2 °F}.
|
Preconditions
|
• Before starting the engine, leave the vehicle with the engine turned off for 6 hours or more.
• The following DTCs are not detected:

PURPOSE: VERIFY IF OPERATION IS NORMAL AFTER VEHICLE COLLISION
• Ask customer about vehicle collision experience.
• Has the vehicle in for servicing been involved in a collision in which the air bag is deployed?

Explain to the customer that the DTC is recorded as a result of a vehicle collision.
Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 1.

PURPOSE: VERIFY CONNECTOR CONNECTIONS
• Start the engine.
• Access the EOT2 PID using the M-MDS.
• Does the PID value fluctuate when the following connectors are shaken?

Repair or replace the applicable wiring harness or connector parts.
Go to the troubleshooting procedure to perform the procedure from Step 1.

No

PURPOSE: INSPECT INSTALLATION OF ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR/ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR
• Inspect installation of engine oil temperature sensor/engine oil pressure sensor.
• Is the engine oil temperature sensor/engine oil pressure sensor installed securely?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Retighten the engine oil temperature sensor/engine oil pressure sensor, then go to Step 5.

|
PURPOSE: INSPECT ENGINE OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
• Inspect the engine oil temperature sensor.
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Replace the engine oil temperature sensor/engine oil pressure sensor, then go to Step 5.

No
|
Go to Step 5.

PURPOSE: INSPECT IF INSUFFICIENT HYDRAULIC PRESSURE CAUSED BY USE OF UNSPECIFIED ENGINE OIL
• Is the specified engine oil being used?

Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the engine oil with genuine motor oil, then go to the next step.
|

|
PURPOSE: VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR COMPLETION
• Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Implement the repeatability verification procedure.
• Perform the DTC Reading Procedure.
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

PURPOSE: VERIFY IF THERE IS ANY OTHER MALFUNCTION
• Is any other DTC or pending code stored?

Yes
