• Inspect installation of OCV for No.4 cylinder deactivation.
• Is the OCV for No.4 cylinder deactivation installed securely?

No

Retighten the OCV for No.4 cylinder deactivation, then go to Step 13.

Yes

Clean or replace the stuck valve, then go to Step 13.

PURPOSE: INSPECT CONDITION OF INTAKE VALVE AND EXHAUST VALVE FOR No.4 CYLINDER
• Inspect the condition of the intake valve and the exhaust valve for No.4 cylinder.
• Are the intake valve and the exhaust valve for No.4 cylinder stuck?

Yes
|
Clean or replace the stuck valve, then go to Step 13.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

PURPOSE: INSPECT ENGINE OIL SOLENOID VALVE
• Inspect the engine oil solenoid valve.
• Is there any malfunction?

PURPOSE: VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION RELATED TO ENGINE OIL LEAK OR RESTRICTION AFFECTS DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS
• Start the engine.
• Verify if there is engine oil leakage in the oil passage or restriction.
• Is there engine oil leakage in the oil passage or restriction?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the inspection results.
Add genuine motor oil, then go to the next step.

PURPOSE: VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Always reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
• Start the engine and warm it up completely.
• Drive the vehicle under the freeze frame data/snapshot data condition.
• Perform the DTC Reading Procedure.
• Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
