Start stop unit
(CAN communication: cruise control switch condition signal)
ON*1 or MODE*2
The cruise control system main switch. By operating the switch while the cruise control system is turned off, the cruise control system goes on stand-by.
OFF/CANCEL
The cruise control system main switch.
Cruise control system operating
― By operating the switch, the cruise control system goes on stand-by.
Cruise control system stand-by
― By operating the switch, the cruise control system turns off.

RESUME/+
• By operating the switch while the cruise control system is on stand-by and the vehicle is driven normally at more than 25 km/h {16 mph}, the PCM starts control at the set vehicle speed stored in the PCM. (Operates system while PCM has stored previous set vehicle speed)
• When the switch is pressed and released or continually pressed while the cruise control system is operating, the PCM performs acceleration control.
SET/−
• By operating the switch while the cruise control system is on stand-by and the vehicle is driven normally at more than 25 km/h (16 mph), the PCM stores the vehicle speed at the moment the switch is pressed as the set vehicle speed, and starts control.
• When the switch is pressed and released or continuously pressed while the cruise control system is operating, the PCM performs deceleration control.

Instrument cluster
CAN communication: electric parking brake switch signal
When the electric parking brake is applied, the cruise control system goes on stand-by. (The pre-set vehicle speed is stored.)

Cruise set indication (green)

Pre-set vehicle speed display
With multi-information display
• Active driving display (See ACTIVE DRIVING DISPLAY.)
• Multi-information display (See MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY.)
Without multi-information display
• Liquid crystal display (LCD) (See LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY (LCD).)
DSC HU/CM
CAN communication: vehicle speed signal
The DSC HU/CM sends the vehicle speed signal to the PCM.
CAN communication: brake pressure signal
If the brake pressure exceeds 0.3 MPa {3 kg/cm2, 44 psi}, the cruise control system goes on stand-by. (The pre-set vehicle speed is stored.)
Brake switch
When the brake pedal is pressed during cruise control, the cruise control system goes on stand-by. (The pre-set vehicle speed is stored.)
Clutch pedal position (CPP) switch (MTX)
When the clutch pedal is pressed during cruise control, the cruise control system goes on stand-by. (The pre-set vehicle speed is stored.)
Neutral switch (MTX)
When the shift lever is shifted to the neutral position during cruise control, the cruise control system goes on stand-by. (The pre-set vehicle speed is stored.)
TCM (ATX)
CAN communication: gear signal
• When the selector lever is shifted from D to N position during cruise control, the cruise control system goes on stand-by. (The pre-set vehicle speed is stored.)
• The cruise control system does not operate when the selector lever is in the N or P position.
• The cruise control cannot be cancelled while driving in manual mode (selector lever shifted from D to M position).
CAN communication: diagnostic signal
If there is a malfunction with the ATX, the cruise control system goes on stand-by. (The pre-set vehicle speed is stored.)
PCM
The cruise control system starts or stops operation according to the cruise control switch ON/OFF signal. During cruise control, the system controls the vehicle speed to the previously set vehicle speed by operating the throttle valve actuator.
Throttle valve actuator
Adjusts the throttle valve opening angle according to the duty signal received from the PCM.

Operation
1. When the cruise control switch is operated (1), the start stop unit sends (2) a cruise control switch condition signal to the PCM via CAN communication.
2. When the PCM receives the cruise control condition signal, it controls (3) the throttle valve actuator according to the set vehicle speed. At the same time, the PCM sends (4) a cruise main indication (white)/cruise set indication (green) illumination request signal and a set vehicle speed display request signal to the instrument cluster by CAN communication.
