PID/DATA Monitor Inspection

Note
•  Because the variable turbine geometry turbocharger actuator position sensor is integrated in the variable turbine geometry turbocharger actuator.
•  Because the Variable turbine geometry turbocharger actuator is integrated in the turbocharger, replacing the regulating valve actuator position sensor includes replacement of the turbocharger.

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Start the engine.

3.  Access the PID/DATA monitor item VGTURB_ACT and simulation item VGTURB_DSD using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [PCM (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)].)

4.  Verify that PID VGTURB_ACT value conforms to the VGTURB_DSD value when the simulation item VGTURB_DSD value is fluctuated.

•  If not as verified, replace the turbocharger. (See TURBOCHARGER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)
