THEFT-DETERRENT SIREN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Replacement Part

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Remove the following parts:

(1)  Seal board upper (See SEAL BOARD UPPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(2)  Front bumper (See FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

(3)  Front combination light (LH) (See FRONT COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Using a chisel and a hammer, cut a groove on the head of the bolts so that a screwdriver can be inserted.

4.  Loose the bolt using an impact screwdriver or pliers.

5.  Remove the bolts. (See Bolt Installation Note.)

6.  Remove the bracket.

7.  Disconnect the connector.

8.  While pressing the tabs of the clip in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, press it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the clip tab from the bracket.

9.  Remove the clip.

10.  Remove the bolts.

11.  Remove the theft-deterrent siren.

12.  Disconnect the connector.

13.  Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver into the position shown in the figure.

14.  Move the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure to press the connector tab, and pull it in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the connector from the bracket.

15.  Remove the short wiring harness.

16.  Remove the nut.

17.  Remove the theft-deterrent siren.

18.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Bolt Installation Note

1.  Install a new bolt and tighten it until the neck of the bolt is cut.
