Purpose/Function

•  The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) notifies the driver that the vehicle is under the following conditions.
―  Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) is malfunctioning
―  Smart Brake Support (SBS) is malfunctioning

Construction

•  The Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) is built into the instrument cluster.

Operation

•  While each of the following systems is operating/not operating, or malfunctioning, the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) turns on as indicated in the table.
―  Smart City Brake Support (SCBS)
―  Smart Brake Support (SBS)

Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) malfunction occurs
1.  The Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) sends (1) a Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) illumination request signal to the instrument cluster.
2.  When the instrument cluster receives the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) illumination request signal, it turns the transistor on (2) and the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) is turned on (3).

Smart Brake Support (SBS) malfunction occurs
1.  The radar sensor and the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC) send (1) a Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) illumination request signal to the instrument cluster.
2.  When the instrument cluster receives the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) illumination request signal, it turns the transistor on (2) and the Smart Brake Support/Smart City Brake Support (SBS/SCBS) warning light (amber) is turned on (3).

•  For vehicles with the center display, a warning message is displayed in the center display when the Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) warning light (amber) turns on. For the message content and verification method, refer to the [CENTER DISPLAY]. (See CENTER DISPLAY [WITH CENTER DISPLAY].)
