Steering switch input signal is detected continuously for 2 min or more

POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Connector or terminal malfunction
• Steering switch malfunction
• Clock spring malfunction
• Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals:
• Bluetooth® unit malfunction

INSPECT STEERING SWITCH CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Switch the ignition off.
• Disconnect the negative battery cable.
• Disconnect the steering switch connector.
• Inspect the connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector or terminal, then go to Step 7.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CLOCK SPRING CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the clock spring connector.
• Inspect the connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector or terminal, then go to Step 7.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT Bluetooth® UNIT CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the Bluetooth® unit connector.
• Inspect the connector for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, and corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Repair or replace the connector or terminal, then go to Step 7.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT STEERING SWITCH
• Inspect the steering switch.
(See STEERING SWITCH INSPECTION.)
• Is there any malfunction?

Yes
|
Replace the steering switch, then go to Step 7.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CLOCK SPRING
• Inspect the crock spring.
(See CLOCK SPRING INSPECTION.)
• Is there any malfunction?
|
Yes
|
Replace the crock spring, then go to Step 7.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT STEERING SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Make sure reconnect the disconnected connectors.
• Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:
• Is there continuity?

Yes
|
If there is a common connector:If there is no common connector:
Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between Bluetooth® unit terminal F and steering switch terminal 3M.
• Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.
• Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
• Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.
Go to the next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Switch the ignition off.
• Connect the negative battery cable.
• Clear the DTC from the Bluetooth® unit memory.
(See CLEARING DTC [AUDIO].)
• Perform the Bluetooth® unit DTC inspection.
(See DTC INSPECTION [AUDIO].)
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the Bluetooth® unit.
Go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE RECORDED
• Are any DTCs present?
|
Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE [AUDIO].)

No
|
