Description	SIDE CAMERA IMAGE NOT CLEAR/NO IMAGE ON SCREEN
	•  Navigation image is output, however, rear mount camera image is not output •  Poor reception from side camera
Possible Causes	•  Effects of non-genuine, after-market electrical components •  Connector poor contact or terminal damage •  Side camera malfunction •  Open circuit in wiring harness between the following terminals: ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1L and side camera terminal A ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1O and side camera terminal F ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1N and side camera terminal B ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1M and side camera terminal G •  Short to power supply in wiring harness between the following terminals: ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1O and side camera terminal F •  Short to ground in wiring harness between the following terminals: ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1L and side camera terminal A ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1O and side camera terminal F •  Parking assist unit (optical) malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

Note

•  The malfunction may be caused by a non-genuine, after-market electrical component. If a non-genuine, after-market electrical component has been installed and it cannot be determined whether the malfunction cause is due to the non-genuine, after-market electrical component or not, more time may be required to perform the malfunction diagnosis. (See FOREWORD [PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM].)

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY AFTER-MARKET ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSTALLATION CONDITION •  Verify if a non-genuine, after-market electrical component is installed. •  Has a non-genuine, after-market electrical component been installed?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Go to Step 3.
2	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS AFTER-MARKET ELECTRICAL COMPONENT INSTALLATION •  Disconnect the non-genuine, after-market electrical component connectors. •  Verify if the malfunction symptom recurs as stated by the customer. •  Does the malfunction recur?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Explain to the customer that the malfunction occurred due to the after-market electrical component installation.
3	INSPECT SIDE CAMERA CONDITION •  Is the side camera lens soiled by dust or dirt?	Yes	Clean the side camera lens, then go to Step 11.
		No	Go to the next step.
4	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS SIDE CAMERA •  Are there any scratches or damage on the side camera lens?	Yes	Replace the side camera lens, then go to Step 11. (See REAR MOUNT CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
		No	Go to the next step.
5	INSPECT SIDE CAMERA CONNECTOR •  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) •  Disconnect the side camera connector. •  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection. •  Is the connector normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 11.
6	INSPECT PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) CONNECTOR •  Disconnect the parking assist unit (optical) connector. •  Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection. •  Is the connector normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	Repair or replace the connector, then go to Step 11.
7	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS OPEN CIRCUIT IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) AND SIDE CAMERA •  Verify that the side camera and parking assist unit (optical) connectors are disconnected. •  Inspect the wiring harness for continuity between the following terminals (vehicle wiring harness side). ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1L and side camera terminal A ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1O and side camera terminal F ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1N and side camera terminal B ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1M and side camera terminal G •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	•  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between the following terminals. ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1L and side camera terminal A ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1O and side camera terminal F ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1N and side camera terminal B ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1M and side camera terminal G If there is a common connector: •  Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for an open circuit to determine the malfunctioning location. •  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location. If there is no common connector: •  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit. •  Go to Step 11.
8	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS SHORT CIRCUIT TO GROUND IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) AND SIDE CAMERA •  Verify that the side camera and parking assist unit (optical) connectors are disconnected. •  Inspect for continuity between the following wiring harness terminals (vehicle wiring harness side) and body ground. ―  Side camera terminal F •  Is there continuity?	Yes	Go to the next step.
		No	•  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between the following terminals. ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1O and side camera terminal F If there is a common connector: •  Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for an short to ground to determine the malfunctioning location. •  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location. If there is no common connector: •  Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an short to ground. •  Go to Step 11.
9	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) AND SIDE CAMERA •  Verify that the side camera and parking assist unit (optical) connectors are disconnected. •  Reconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) •  Switch the ignition to ACC or ON (engine off or on). •  Measure the voltage at the following terminals (vehicle wiring harness side). ―  Side camera terminal A ―  Side camera terminal F •  Is the voltage B+?	Yes	•  Refer to the wiring diagram and verify if there is a common connector between the following terminals. ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1L and side camera terminal A ―  Parking assist unit (optical) terminal 1O and side camera terminal F If there is a common connector: •  Inspect the common connector and terminals for corrosion, damage, or disconnection and the common wiring harnesses for an open circuit to determine the malfunctioning location. •  Repair or replace the malfunctioning location. If there is no common connector: •  Repair or replace the wiring harness which is shorted to the power supply. •  Go to Step 11.
		No	Go to the next step.
10	INSPECT SIDE CAMERA •  Inspect the side camera. (See SIDE CAMERA INSPECTION.) •  Is the side camera normal?	Yes	Replace the parking assist unit (optical), then go to the next step. (See PARKING ASSIST UNIT (OPTICAL) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
		No	Replace the side camera, then go to the next step. (See SIDE CAMERA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
11	VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS CORRECTED •  Reconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 (WITHOUT i-stop)].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].) •  Switch the ignition to ACC or ON (engine off or on). •  Monitor switch ON. •  Is side camera image output normally?	Yes	Troubleshooting completed (explain the contents of the servicing to the customer).
		No	Verify the malfunction symptom in the symptom troubleshooting chart and perform the other applicable malfunction diagnosis. (See SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING [ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM [WITH CENTER DISPLAY]].)
