DETECTION CONDITION
|
• The PCM detected an instrument cluster internal malfunction for the specified period of time.
Diagnostic support note
• This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
• The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
• PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA/Snapshot data is available.
• DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

• Record the freeze frame data/snap shot data.

VERIFY OTHER RELATED DTCs
• Switch the ignition OFF, and then switch it ON (engine off).
• Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Has any DTC other than P2610:00 been stored?

Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

|
VERIFY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER-RELATED DTCs
• Using the M-MDS, display the DTCs related to the instrument cluster.
• Is a DTC displayed?
|
Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.
|

|
INSPECT FOR MALFUNCTION DUE TO BAD FUSE
• Switch the ignition OFF.
• Remove the MAIN 200 A fuse and ROOM 15 A fuse.
• Inspect the MAIN 200 A fuse and ROOM 15 A fuse.
• Are the MAIN 200 A fuse and ROOM 15 A fuse normal?

Yes
|
A malfunction in the CAN communication line can be considered.
• Install the MAIN 200 A fuse and ROOM 15 A fuse.
• Refer to the wiring diagram and inspect the wiring harness between instrument cluster and the PCM.
If there is any malfunction:
If there is no malfunction:

No
|
• Replace the malfunctioning fuse.
• Switch the ignition ON and leave for 10 s or more.
• Switch the ignition OFF.
• Go to Step 6.

INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
• Inspect the instrument cluster.
• Is the instrument cluster normal?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the instrument cluster, then go to the next step.
|

|
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
• Reconnect all the disconnected connectors.
• Start the engine.
• Stop the engine.
• Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 5 min or more.
• Switch the ignition ON (engine off).
• Display the DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Has DTC P2610:00 been recorded?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY OTHER DTCs
• Has any other DTC or pending code been stored?

Yes
|
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.

No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
