• 4WD CM detects excessive load
|

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

• 4WD protection condition (4WD control paused)
• 4WD warning indication: Flashed

POSSIBLE CAUSE
|
• Detects excessive load on 4WD part to switch to 2WD and protect the system
|

SWITCH THE IGNITION OFF AND ALLOW 4WD CM TO COOL DOWN.

VERIFY THAT THE SAME DTC IS NOT PRESENT
• Clear the DTCs from the memory.
• Using the M-MDS, perform the 4WD control module DTC inspection.
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Replace the 4WD CM, then go to the next step.

No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCS ARE PRESENT
• Are any other DTCs output?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
