• Incorrect vehicle model identification information cannot be received from PCM or instrument cluster

• 4WD warning indication: Indicated

• PCM malfunction
• Instrument cluster malfunction
• Wrong 4WD CM is installed

• Using the M-MDS, perform the DTC inspection for the PCM.
• Are any DTCs detected?

Yes

Go to applicable DTC inspection.

Go to the next step.

INSPECT FOR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MALFUNCTION
• Using the M-MDS, perform the DTC inspection for the instrument cluster.
• Are any DTCs detected?

Yes
|
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
DTC troubleshooting completed, then go to Step 5.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

INSPECT THE 4WD CM
• Is correct 4WD CM installed?
|
Yes
|
Go to the next step.
|
No
|
Replace the 4WD CM, then go to Step 5.

|
COUPLING COMPONENT CALIBRATION DATA WRITING
• Write the coupling component calibration data.
|
Go to the next step.

|
VERIFY THAT THE SAME DTC IS NOT PRESENT
• Clear the DTCs from the memory.
• Using the M-MDS, perform the 4WD control module DTC inspection.
• Is the same DTC present?

Yes
|
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCS ARE PRESENT
• Are any other DTCs output?

Yes
|
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
|
No
|
DTC troubleshooting completed.
