Caution
•  Performing the following procedures could cause an open circuit in the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before servicing, disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor and set it aside so that the wiring harness will not be pulled by mistake.

1.  Switch the ignition ON (engine off).

2.  Release the electric parking brake.

3.  Switch the ignition off.

4.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

5.  Remove the wheel and tire. (See WHEEL AND TIRE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Disconnect the rear ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness and the electric parking brake motor gear unit connector, and set them aside so that they do not interfere with the servicing. (See REAR ABS WHEEL-SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [2WD].)

7.  Remove the rear brake caliper component installation bolts.

8.  Remove the rear brake caliper component from the hub support and suspend it out of the way with a cable.

9.  Remove the rear disc plate.

10.  Remove in the order shown in the figure.

11.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Suspension Link Installation Note.)

12.  When the hub support, hub support bushing (front), or hub support bushing (rear) is replaced, inspect the wheel alignment and adjust it if necessary. (See REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT.)

Rear Lower Arm Outer Bolt Removal Note

1.  Support the lower arm using a jack.

2.  Remove the rear lower arm outer bolt.


Rear Wheel Hub Bolt Removal Note

•  Only remove a rear wheel hub bolt if it is malfunctioning.

1.  Remove the rear wheel hub bolt from the wheel hub component using a press.

Hub Support Bushing (Front) Removal Note

1.  Mark the hub support as shown in the figure.

2.  Remove the hub support bushing (front) using the SSTs and a press.

Hub Support Bushing (Rear) Removal Note

1.  Mark the hub support as shown in the figure.

2.  Remove the hub support bushing (rear) using the SSTs and a press.

Suspension Link Installation Note

1.  When installing the joint sections with rubber bushings, perform the following steps.

(1)  Temporarily tighten the bolts and nuts with the vehicle lifted up.
(2)  Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the bolts and nuts to the specified torque.


Hub Support Bushing (Rear) Installation Note

1.  Align the projection of the hub support bushing (rear) with the hub support marking and set a new hub support bushing (rear) to the hub support.

2.  Press fit the hub support bushing (rear) using the SSTs and a press.

Hub Support Bushing (Front) Installation Note

1.  Align the projection of the hub support bushing (front) with the hub support marking and set a new hub support bushing (front) to the hub support.

Rear Wheel Hub Bolt Installation Note

1.  Press fit the new rear wheel hub bolt to the wheel hub component using a press.
