Standard clearance
a: 4.5—6.5 mm {0.18—0.25 in}
b: –3.1—–1.1 mm {–0.12—–0.05 in}
•  If the measured value exceeds the standard clearance, adjust the gap and height difference using the following procedure.
1.  Loosen the liftgate hinge installation bolts and adjust the gap and height difference by moving the liftgate. (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2.  Tighten the liftgate hinge installation bolts. (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3.  Verify that the gap between the liftgate and the roof panel and the measurement value of the height difference are within the standards.

2.  Measure the gap and height difference between the liftgate garnish and the rear fender panel.

Standard clearance
a: 3.7—7.5 mm {0.15—0.29 in}
b: –2.1—1.9 mm {–0.082—0.074 in}
•  If the measured value exceeds the standard clearance, adjust the gap and height difference using the following procedure.
1.  Loosen the liftgate hinge installation bolts and adjust the gap and height difference by moving the liftgate. (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2.  Tighten the liftgate hinge installation bolts. (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3.  Verify that the gap between the liftgate and the rear fender panel and the measurement value of the height difference are within the standards.
4.  Verify that the liftgate opens/closes smoothly.
•  If the liftgate does not open/close smoothly, adjust the liftgate lock striker position by loosening the liftgate lock striker installation bolts. (See DOOR LOCK STRIKER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Measure the gap and height difference between the liftgate and the rear bumper.

Standard clearance
a: 4.0—8.0 mm {0.16—0.31 in}
•  If the measured value exceeds the standard clearance, adjust the gap and height difference using the following procedure.
1.  Loosen the liftgate hinge installation bolts and adjust the gap and height difference by moving the liftgate. (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
2.  Tighten the liftgate hinge installation bolts. (See LIFTGATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3.  Verify that the gap between the liftgate and the rear bumper and the measurement value of the height difference are within the standards.

4.  Spray or pour water on the liftgate and surrounding area using a hose or a high pressure car wash machine, and verify that there is no water leakage.

5.  Perform 360° view monitor system aiming. (with 360° view monitor system) (See 360°VIEW MONITOR SYSTEM AIMING.)
