REAR COMBINATION LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Note
•  Fogging or condensation on the inside of the rear combination lights may occur because of a natural phenomenon occurring as a result of a temperature difference between the interior and exterior of the combination lights. However, it has no effect on the light performance because the phenomenon is resolved when temperature inside the rear combination light rises after the rear turn light is turned on or a period of time has elapsed.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

2.  Insert the remover tool into the service hole at the position shown in the figure.

3.  Move the remover tool in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and pull the tab of the service hole cover out of the rear combination light.

4.  Remove the service hole cover.

5.  Remove the screws. (See Screw Installation Note.)

Caution
•  When removing the rear combination light from the body, perform the procedure after applying protective tape to the body. Otherwise, the body could interfere with the rear combination light and cause scratching or damage to the body.

6.  To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the positions shown in the figure.

7.  Pull the rear combination light in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and pull out the rear combination light from the body.

8.  Remove the rear combination light short cord from the hook.

9.  Turn the socket counterclockwise and remove it in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure.

10.  Pull out the cover in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure.

11.  Disconnect the connector.

12.  Remove the grommets.

13.  Install in the reverse order of removal.


Screw Installation Note

1.  Install the screws in the order of (1) and (2).
