CENTER MAP LIGHT BULB REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Map Light Switch Integrated Type

1.  Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

Caution

•  If a remover tool is inserted into the gap between the center map light and lens, the center map light could interfere with the remover tool resulting in damage to the center map light. When removing the lens from the center map light, perform the procedure after applying protective tape to the center map light.

2.  To prevent scratches or damage, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

3.  Press the lens to assure a space for inserting the remover tool.

4.  Insert the remover tool into the gap between the center map light and the lens shown in the figure.

5.  Move the remover tool in the directions of arrow (1) shown in the figure and pull out the lens from the pin.

6.  Remove the lens.

7.  Spread the spring of the center map light in the directions of arrows (1) shown in the figure and disengage the center map light bulb/LED from the spring.

Caution

•  If there is oil or dirt on the surface of the light bulb, excessive heat will build up and the life of the light bulb will be shortened. If the light bulb glass area is touched, wipe off any dirt using a soft cloth dampened with detergent diluted in water (approx. 5 %).

8.  Remove the center map light bulb/LED.

9.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Map Light Switch Independent Type

Note

•  The LED for the center map light cannot be replaced separately. If there is any malfunction in the LED, replace the center map light as a single unit. (See CENTER MAP LIGHT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
