Diagnostic Procedure
Step |
Inspection |
Action |
---|---|---|---|
1
INSPECT WALK-IN ACTUATOR (RH) CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Switch the ignition off.
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
• Disconnect the walk-in actuator (RH) connector.
• Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
• Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 8.
2
INSPECT SLIDE MOTOR (RH) CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the slide motor (RH) connector.
• Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
• Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 8.
3
INSPECT REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (RH) CONNECTOR CONDITION
• Disconnect the rear power seat control module (RH) connector.
• Inspect the connector engagement and connection condition and inspect the terminals for damage, deformation, corrosion, or disconnection.
• Is the connector normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Repair or replace the connector and/or terminals, then go to Step 8.
4
INSPECT WALK-IN ACTUATOR (RH) CIRCUIT/SLIDE MOTOR (RH) CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Verify that the slide motor (RH), walk-in actuator (RH), and rear power seat control module (RH) connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side) and body ground:
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following circuits:
• Rear power seat control module (RH) terminal 2D—Walk-in actuator (RH) terminal A
• Rear power seat control module (RH) terminal 2A—Slide motor (RH) terminal B
• Rear power seat control module (RH) terminal 2B—Slide motor (RH) terminal A
If there is a common connector:
• Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for a short to ground.
• Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
If there is no common connector:
• Repair or replace the wiring harness which has a short to ground.
Go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.
5
INSPECT SLIDE MOTOR (RH) CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
• Verify that the slide motor (RH) and rear power seat control module (RH) connectors are disconnected.
• Inspect for continuity between the following terminals (wiring harness-side):
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Refer to the wiring diagram and verify whether or not there is a common connector between the following circuits:
• Rear power seat control module (RH) terminal 2A—Slide motor (RH) terminal B
• Rear power seat control module (RH) terminal 2B—Slide motor (RH) terminal A
If there is a common connector:
• Determine the malfunctioning part by inspecting the common connector and the terminal for corrosion, damage, or pin disconnection, and the common wiring harness for an open circuit.
• Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
If there is no common connector:
• Repair or replace the wiring harness which has an open circuit.
Go to Step 8.
6
INSPECT SLIDE MOTOR (RH)
• Inspect the slide motor (RH).
(See SLIDE MOTOR INSPECTION.)
• Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the second-row seat (RH), then go to Step 8.
7
INSPECT REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL MODULE (RH)
• Inspect the rear power seat control module (RH).
• Is the part normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the second-row seat (RH), then go to the next step.
