• If the sliding mechanisms on both sides are not locked after assembling the second-row seat, it may move unexpectedly while the vehicle is driven, which could result in serious injury. After assembling the second-row seat, try moving it back and forth to verify that the sliding mechanism on both sides are locked.

Caution
-
• After the second-row seat has been removed, if the slider lever is operated and the second-row seat is reinstalled with the left/right slide positions deviated, the adjuster unit could be damaged. After removing a second-row seat, do not operate the slider lever.
• Verify that there are no malfunctions in the forward/back slide of the seat and in the adjuster unit after installing a second-row seat.
• When performing the procedure with a second-row seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean cloth so as not to damage or soil the seat.
6:4 Split Adjustable-Type Bench Seat Type
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.(See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Lift up the cover while opening it in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure and detach the cover tabs from the second-row seat.
3. Move the cover in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and remove it from the second-row seat.
4. Remove the bolts.
5. Using the slider lever, move the second-row seat to a position where the cover can be removed.
6. Move the cover in the order of arrows (1) and (2) as shown in the figure, and detach the cover tabs from the second-row seat.
7. Remove the cover.
8. Move the cover in the order of arrows (1), (2), (3), (4), (5), and (6) as shown in the figure, and detach the cover tabs from the second-row seat.
9. Remove the cover.
10. Remove the bolts.
11. Disconnect the connector.
12. Remove the head restraints.
13. Remove the second-row seats.
Captain Seat Type
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.(See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)
2. Lift up the cover while opening it in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure and detach the cover tabs from the second-row seat.
3. Move the cover in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and remove it from the second-row seat.
4. Remove the bolts.
5. Using the slider lever, move the second-row seat to a position where the cover can be removed.
6. Move the second-row seat console panel in the direction of the arrows shown in the figure and detach the tabs. (with second-row sear console box)
7. Open the second-row seat adjuster cover in the directions of arrows (1) shown in the figure, move it in the direction of arrows (2) while detaching the tabs from the seats, and then detach the clips from the seats. (with second-row seat console box)
8. Move the cover in the order of arrows (1) and (2) as shown in the figure, and detach the cover tabs from the second-row seat.
9. Remove the cover.
10. Remove the bolts.
11. Disconnect the connector. (with second-row seat warmer)
12. Remove the head restraints.
13. Remove the second-row seats.
14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
15. If the second-row power seat (with walk-in switch) is replaced, perform the seat position initial learning. (See SEAT POSITION INITIAL LEARNING.)
