SEAT POSITION SENSOR INSPECTION

Note

• Prepare the magnetized object (steel plate).

― Length: 50 mm {1.97 in} or more

― Width: 20 mm {0.79 in} or more

― Thickness: 2 mm {0.08 in} or more

1. Switch the ignition off (LOCK).

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION.)

3. Verify that there is no foreign matter (metal fragments) adhering to the seat position sensor.

4. Disconnect the seat position sensor connector.

5. Connect the battery positive voltage to seat position sensor terminal 2I.

6. Connect the tester between seat position sensor terminal 2J and body ground.

7. Measure the current.

Standard current [magnetized object (steel plate) is separated 10 mm or more from seat position sensor magnetized object detection area]

11.0—19.4 mA

Standard current [magnetized object (steel plate) approaches seat position sensor magnetized object detection area by approx. 0 to 2 mm]

3.9mA—6.9 mA
