Purpose

• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light/blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning indication alerts the driver that a malfunction in the system has occurred.

Functions

• The instrument cluster turns on/displays the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light/blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning indication based on the system malfunction display request signal sent via CAN communication from the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH).

Structure/Construction

• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light is built into the instrument cluster. (without multi-information display)

• The blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning indication is displayed in the multi-information display. (with multi-information display)

• A warning message is displayed in the center display at the same time as when the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light/blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning indication is turned on/displayed after a malfunction occurs in the blind spot monitoring (BSM) system. Operation

Blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light

1. If there is a malfunction in the blind spot monitoring (BSM) system, the blind spot monitoring (BSM) control module (LH) sends (1) a system malfunction display request signal to the instrument cluster via CAN communication.

2. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on the system malfunction display request signal.

3. When the transistor turns on, the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning light turns on (3).

2. The instrument cluster displays (2) the blind spot monitoring (BSM) warning indication in the multi-information display based on the system malfunction display request signal.
