Theft detected, vehicle immobilized

DETECTION CONDITION
•  Indicates that the PATS determined a theft condition existed and the engine is disabled. This DTC is a good indicator to check the PATS for DTCs.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Incorrectly programmed PCM
•  Incorrectly programmed instrument cluster*1/keyless control module*2
•  Previous theft condition
•  Anti-theft system concern
•  PCM malfunction

*1  :Vehicles without advanced keyless entry and start system
*2  :Vehicles with advanced keyless entry and start system

VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
•  Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record FREEZE FRAME DATA on the repair order, then go to the next step.

VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
•  Verify related Service Information availability.
•  Is any related Service Information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information.
•  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM DTC
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.

CHECK FOR ANY OTHER POWERTRAIN DTC
•  Verify the pending code or stored DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Are all other powertrain DTCs diagnosed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
(The system is operating normal at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.)
No
Go to the appropriate DTC troubleshooting procedures.

ATTEMPT TO START ENGINE
•  Complete the keep alive memory.
•  Reset to clear DTC P1260:00.
•  This reset initializes the PCM to communicate with the immobilizer system.
•  Attempt to start the engine.
•  Does the engine start?
Yes
No system malfunctions exists at this time.
For intermittent No Starts or Start Stalls, verify intermittent PATS faults.
Then go to the next step.
Note
•  PATS cannot stall the engine after 1 second of operation. For intermittent Stalls while driving, verify the M-MDS tester to PCM communication during concern. If a PCM communication error occurs, possible causes are:
―  Loss of PWRS or grounds to the PCM
―  Malfunctioning PCM PWR relay
―  Malfunctioning EEC PWR diode
•  Repair if necessary and return the vehicle to customer.
No
DTC P1260:00 is not the cause of the No Start.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P1260:00 HAS BEEN COMPLETED
•  Verify that all disconnected connectors are reconnected.
•  Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Engine off).
•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the PENDING CODE for this DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the PCM.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
7
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
•  Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
