Brake fluid level sensor
DETECTION CONDITION
•  Brake fluid level remains low
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Decrease in amount of brake fluid
•  Malfunction of brake fluid level sensor
•  DSC/RSC HU/CM malfunction

INSPECTION

ACTION

INSPECT FOR BCM MALFUNCTIONFOR DTCs
•  Turn the ignition switch off.
•  Using the M-MDS, perform the DTC inspection for the BCM.
•  Are any DTCs detected?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
No
Go to the next step.
2
INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL
•  Inspect the brake fluid level.
•  Is it normal?
Yes
Go to Step 5.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT DISC PAD THICKNESS
•  Inspect the thickness of the disc pads.
•  Are the disc pads normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
After replacing a disc pad, adjust the brake fluid level to the specification, and then go to Step 6.

INSPECT BRAKE SYSTEM BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
•  Inspect for brake fluid leakage in the brake system including the connection area between the master cylinder and the power brake unit.
•  Is the brake system normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
After repairing or replacing the fluid leakage area of the brake system, adjust the brake fluid level to the specification, and then go to Step 6.

INSPECT BRAKE FLUID LEVEL SENSOR
•  Inspect the brake fluid level sensor.
•  Is the brake fluid level sensor normal?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
After replacing the brake fluid level sensor, adjust the brake fluid level to the specification, and then go to the next step.
6
VERIFY DTC TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC from the memory.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
If the malfunction occurs again, replace the DSC/RSC HU/CM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to next step.
7
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
•  Are any other DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
