AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [AY6A-EL, AY6AX-EL]

Warning
•  A hot transaxle and ATF can cause severe burns. Turn off the engine and wait until then are cool.
Caution
•  Do not remove the blind cap because it is not a removable part.

Note
•  The following procedure is for draining the ATF from the oil pan, not for complete replacement of the ATF.

1.  Remove the overflow plug, and the O-ring.

2.  Remove the overflow tube, and the gasket, and drain the ATF.

3.  Install the new gasket, and overflow tube.

Tightening torque
24—54 N·m {2.5—5.5 kgf·m, 18—39 ft·lbf}

4.  Temporarily tighten the overflow plug reusing the O-ring.

5.  Adjust the ATF level. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) LEVEL ADJUSTMENT [AY6A-EL, AY6AX-EL].)
